I had been having problems with the lead on my chimney for 8 months now and spent over 400 pounds with a local roofing company trying to solve it. They failed and we cant get hold of them , Caerphilly Chimney Services came out in April 2013 and recommended we have it removed, Great advice and within 2 weeks the scaffolding was up and chimney was gone and the hole repaired and water tight.
